Painted on handmade stretched canvas. Wooden support and not framed.
I chose to paint a series of large(45x45in) oil paintings featuring four major industrial incursions: oil drilling, blood diamond, sweatshops, and ship-breaking. Combining my love for the fashion world and female figures, the paintings act as a sarcastic commentary on our cultural phenomenon of emphasizing the appeal and packaging.
Maybe diamonds only worth so much because of the lives lost, yet not enough for the same reason.
